Description

These cherry tomatoes taste every bit as good as they look . . . and they won't crack open and split like so many others

Days to Maturity; 65 from transplant

Determinate

Find a large, lovely container and grow the biggest and best crop of cherry tomatoes you've ever seen with Maskotka, a new determinate (we'll explain that in a minute) variety bred just for growing on the patio.

This dwarf plant has super-sturdy stems that simply hang with bright red 1- to 1¼-ounce fruit. The yields are nothing short of amazing—if you grew a full-sized cherry tomato plant, chances are you wouldn't get a crop this heavy. So you not only save space, you equal or increase your delicious results.

Vigorous and well-branched, Maskotka fills any container nicely, spilling over the sides with the abundance of its fruit. Part of the reason for its big crops is great resistance to cracking—you won't lose fruit from splitting open early.

We mentioned early that Maskotka is a determinate variety. This means that it sets its crop all at once, instead of continuing to grow throughout the season and set new flowers and then fruit along the way. Maskotka delivers a giant harvest over a short period, so get your salsa and sauce jars ready. Of course, if you want a longer season, simply start your Maskotka seeds about 2 weeks apart. That will give you harvests for several months over summer.

If you would rather grow Maskotka as an upright plant instead of a trailer, you can stake it and it will form a well-branched little bush covered in fruit.

You will love the flavor of these cherries as much as their vigor and great numbers. They are sweet yet meaty, with a true homegrown tomato richness no supermarket variety can replicate. Discover how fabulous snacking from the patio can be with Maskotka.
