An all-around favorite the whole family will love, Pink Girl earns its name with glossy, rosy-pink fruits borne in huge numbers on tall, vigorous plants. Very high in sugar and low in the acids that can cause indigestion, this tomato is a terrific choice for all ages—and its superior disease resistance makes it one of the easiest to grow, even if you've never gardened with tomatoes before.

Pink Girl sets round, crack-resistant fruits weighing 6 to 8 ounces each—a good "mid" size for slicing into salads and sandwiches, chopping for sauces and salsa, and munching fresh straight from the vine. Both the skin and the flesh have a distinct pink tinge that sets Pink Girl apart from all others.

These tomatoes appear on plants that grow quickly and vigorously, continuing to set fruit all season long ("indeterminate"). Part of the reason for their strength is the disease resistance package that makes Pink Girl such an easy variety to grow. These plants stand up to verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, alternaria stem canker, and gray leaf spot—diseases that take a heavy toll on many other types of tomatoes.

Pink Girl reaches 6 to 8 feet high and about 3 feet wide, sometimes continuing to grow and set new fruit into autumn. It is very heavy-bearing all season, a great choice for large families and tomato lovers everywhere. Be sure to stake it to hold up its big bounty of fruit.

Start the seeds indoors 5 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Plant outdoors when danger of frost is past and night temperatures consistently remain above 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If an unexpected late frost is forecasted, protect young plants with plastic sheeting or other cover. Set plants 2 to 2½ feet apart.
